PC Gamer names the MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED as the best 4K gaming monitor right now. At Best Buy prices read on October 26, 2026, though, the 32-inch Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH) at $899.99 is the better buy if you want 4K, 240Hz and OLED at a price that is actually posted. Our sources don't give a current price for the MSI, and that gap matters more than any spec sheet.
The best 4K monitor depends on the price tier, and in late October the tiers moved. Below are the picks for each one, every price with its date, and a note on which prices still hold and which sales have ended.
Same panel, different sticker
PC Gamer's argument for the MSI is about the supply chain, not the design: "it uses the same Samsung-sourced panel as many of the best OLED monitors I've tested," and it costs less than many rivals built on that same panel. Take that at face value and most of the 32-inch 4K 240Hz QD-OLED class turns into one panel with different coatings, ports and stands. The Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH), the curved Alienware AW3225QF and RTINGS' top-rated ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM Gen3 all list 32 inches, 4K and 240Hz.
What separates them is the extras. The G80SH has a Glare Free coating, HDR400 and a 98W USB-C port that can charge a laptop, per SammyGuru. The Alienware has a curve. Once the panels are this similar, the price decides more than the spec sheet does, so the useful numbers are dollars per inch and dollars per hertz at native 4K.
| Monitor (Best Buy price, date) | Size | 4K refresh | $ per inch | $ per Hz |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Odyssey OLED G7 G73SH, $699.99 (Oct 26) | 32 in | 165Hz | $21.87 | $4.24 |
| Odyssey OLED G8 G80SH, $899.99 (Oct 26) | 32 in | 240Hz | $28.12 | $3.75 |
| Alienware AW3225QF, $999.99 (Oct 26) | 31.6 in viewable, curved | 240Hz | $31.65 | $4.17 |
| Odyssey OLED G8 G81SF, $1,299.99 (sale ended) | 27 in | 240Hz | $48.15 | $5.42 |
The picks by tier
$700 to $900: Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH). At $899.99 against a $1,299.99 regular price, which SammyGuru confirmed on October 26, it costs the least per hertz of anything here. Samsung quotes 0.03ms response time; that's a vendor figure, so look for a lab review's own response-time measurements before you lean on it. One more thing from SammyGuru: the Amazon listing has moved to a third-party seller, so check the price on Amazon and the seller before you buy there.
Cheapest 32-inch OLED: Odyssey OLED G7 (G73SH). It was $699.99 against $1,099.99 on the same date. The catch is in its Dual Mode: native 4K runs at 165Hz, and the 330Hz figure only applies at FHD. Per inch it's the cheapest panel on the list; per 4K hertz it costs more than the G8. It supports both G-Sync and FreeSync Premium Pro.
Curved: Alienware AW3225QF. TechRadar once called $979.99 its lowest-ever price. Price trackers have since logged $699.99 (February 7, 2026) and $779.99 around October 19, and then $999.99 by October 26. At $999.99 you're paying $100 more than the flat G8 for the curve. A Fair-condition open-box unit was listed at $709.99. Our call: wait for it to fall back under $900.
27-inch 4K OLED: hold off. The 27-inch G8 (G81SF) sale has ended and it's back at $1,299.99, which works out to $48.15 per inch. TFTCentral recommends the ASUS ROG Swift PG27UCDM and MSI MPG 272URX at this size, and 3DTested gave Editor's Choice to the BenQ Mobiuz EX271UZ. None of those three has a dated Best Buy price in our sources.
Under $500: the thinnest tier. PC Gamer's budget 4K pick is the dual-mode Asus ROG Strix XG27UCG, but our sources don't give a price for it. Newegg's 2026 guide lists the MSI MAG 275UPD E14 at $249.99, which is a retailer's pick rather than a lab result. Samsung's 27-inch Odyssey G70F hit $449.99 at Best Buy on September 17, and that deal has ended. If you don't need OLED, TFTCentral's Mini LED picks (AOC U27G4XM, Gigabyte M27UP, KOORUI S2741LM) run 4K at 160Hz with 1,152 dimming zones. TFTCentral calls them competitively priced but doesn't publish dollar figures.
What it takes to drive 240Hz at 4K
The monitor is the cheaper half of this purchase. Our hub has no 4K figures. The closest we have is Tom's Hardware's Cyberpunk 2077 1440p Ultra results (June 24, 2026): 135 fps on the GeForce RTX 5090, 93.5 fps on the RTX 5080 and 80.9 fps on the RTX 5070 Ti. 4K has 2.25 times as many pixels as 1440p, and none of those cards came near 240 fps even at the lower resolution. In a demanding game, 240Hz is headroom you won't use; in Counter-Strike 2, it's the reason to buy. The full results are on the Cyberpunk 2077 leaderboard.
For local AI, the monitor makes no difference. LLM tokens per second depend on the GPU and its VRAM, as the LLM inference table shows, so a 4K screen won't speed up generation or slow it down.

Compare every benchmark side by sideTwo things sold next to 4K that aren't
Dual-mode headline numbers: the 320Hz on TFTCentral's Mini LED panels and the 330Hz on the G73SH both apply at 1080p. At 4K the numbers are 160Hz and 165Hz.
The 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9 that Tom's Guide listed at $999.99 is DQHD, not 4K UHD, even though it shows up in 4K roundups. Also check the model code: TechRadar's premium pick is the Odyssey Neo G8, which isn't the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH) on sale at Best Buy.
Before you check out
Look at the date on every price, including ours. Two of the three Samsung OLED deals were still live on October 26, and the third had already ended. Within one week the AW3225QF went from $779.99 to $999.99. If a 32-inch 240Hz QD-OLED costs more than $899.99 when you check, the G8 is your benchmark price and the other model has to justify the difference. If 4K at 240Hz is more than your GPU can drive, a 1440p panel at high refresh rates is the cheaper fit.
