For most buyers, the best gaming monitor at Best Buy this autumn is a 27-inch 1440p OLED for about $300. The IPS panels that used to sell at that price have dropped to around $210. Most of the picks below follow from that change.

Three outlets are tracking these prices. Tom's Guide has a roundup headlined up to $600 off LG and Samsung gaming monitors at Best Buy. PCWorld keeps reporting OLEDs under $300, and PC Gamer calls monitors the best value in PC gaming right now. The picks are grouped by price tier. Each price is the Best Buy price on the date the source read it. None of these monitors has a hub page yet, so each link goes to the listing or report that carried the price.

How Best Buy prices a monitor

Best Buy moves monitor prices in three ways.

Seasonal events. In the August Back to School sale, 9to5Toys reported a Samsung 27-inch Odyssey G7 at $400 (regular price $700) and an HP OMEN 27-inch OLED at $400 (regular price $500). October's sale is called "Techtober". Black Friday comes next, and Best Buy's Canadian site is already promoting its 2026 monitor deals.

The strikethrough price. This is the list price Best Buy prints and crosses out. It is not what the monitor sells for elsewhere. The Slickdeals thread on the Samsung 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6 (QD-OLED, 1440p, 500Hz) shows the gap. Best Buy sold it at $599.99 against a $1,000 strikethrough and called that 40% off. Samsung's own store lists the same monitor at $699.99, so the real saving was $100. That deal has since expired.

Open-box and clearance. This is where Best Buy's lowest OLED prices show up.

Under $250

Three 27-inch 1440p monitors on Best Buy's 1440p category page, as read in late October 2026:

  • Samsung Odyssey G50D, IPS, 180Hz: $209.99, down from $349.99.
  • Acer Nitro XV2, IPS, 240Hz: $215.99, down from $244.80.
  • Alienware AW2725DM, IPS, 180Hz: $215.99, down from $269.99.

Verdict: the Acer Nitro XV2. It costs $6 more than the G50D and runs at 240Hz instead of 180Hz. The Alienware costs the same as the Acer and runs slower, so the extra over the Samsung pays for the logo. Tom's Guide also lists the 27-inch Odyssey G4 at $199.99 (was $299.99), which works if $200 is a hard limit.

The cheapest acceptable option is the 27-inch Odyssey G30D, a 1080p, 180Hz panel that SammyGuru reported at $154.99. Spending $55 more gets you 1440p, and at 27 inches that is the better use of the money.

The 1440p tier is an OLED tier now

Pick: the AOC Q27G41ZDF, a 27-inch 1440p OLED at 240Hz with G-Sync compatibility. PCWorld reported it at $300 at Best Buy on October 6, 2026, and said in-store stock was selling fast. For Amazon, check the price on Amazon. Two warnings. First, some listings show the model as Q27GAZD. Second, AOC's OLED prices move a lot: the category page later showed a 27-inch AOC QD-OLED at $519.99, and Slickdeals had tracked one at $399.99. Check the exact model number and the price on the day you buy. This blog's $330 OLED pick covers the same tier.

Open-box prices go lower, as read in late October:

  • Samsung Odyssey G50SF (QD-OLED, 1440p, 180Hz): $287, against a $500 original price.
  • LG UltraGear OLED (1440p, 480Hz): from $337.99.

The IPS monitor on the same shelf is the Acer Nitro 27-inch HDR600 (1440p, 540Hz) at $449.99. It is fast, but it costs $150 more than an OLED most buyers would prefer. Also listed: a clearance LG UltraGear 27-inch OLED (1440p, 240Hz) at $599.99, which is twice the AOC's price for the same refresh rate, and an unnamed QD-OLED (1440p, 360Hz) at $669.99. Best Buy also stocks the ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQDMG (WOLED, 240Hz), but the listing we read did not show a price.

Ultrawides, and the $999.99 ceiling

Tom's Guide headlines "up to $600" off, but its own list has bigger cuts. The 49-inch Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 is $999.99, down from $1,699.99. The 57-inch Odyssey Neo G9 is $1,449.99, down from $2,099.99. Those are $700 and $650 off.

The ultrawide to buy is the LG UltraGear OLED 45GX90SA-B: 45 inches, 800R curve, WOLED, 3440x1440, 240Hz. Notebookcheck reported it at $999.99, down from $1,699.99, in the Techtober sale, with LG matching the price on its own site. It runs webOS with GeForce Now built in, which helps only if you want to stream games without a PC. The Odyssey OLED G9 costs the same, so choose between them by how wide you want to go.

At this price you are also looking at 32-inch 4K OLEDs: the Alienware AW3225QF at $999.99, and the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 and the ASUS ROG Strix PG32UCDMR at $899.99 each. Those are covered in this blog's 4K monitor pick.

Refresh rate is not frame rate

A 500Hz panel can show 500 frames a second, but it is your GPU that has to produce them. In the Tom's Hardware GPU hierarchy (June 24, 2026), Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p Ultra ran at 42.1 fps on the RTX 5060, 80.9 fps on the RTX 5070 Ti and 135 fps on the RTX 5090. In that game, at those settings, none of them gets close to filling a 240Hz panel. Very high refresh rates pay off in esports games. For example, Tom's Hardware's March 23, 2026 CPU review recorded 524 fps in Counter-Strike 2 at 1080p for the Core Ultra 5 245K. That was a CPU test on a different setup, so don't compare it with the GPU numbers above. More results are on the Cyberpunk 2077 leaderboard.

Compare every benchmark side by side

Before you check out

Check the price against the manufacturer's own store, not the strikethrough. Check the exact model number: the AOC has two, and Slickdeals commenters noted the ASUS PG32UCDMR also has a newer PG32UCDM3 variant that may use a different panel. Match the refresh rate to the frame rates your GPU can reach in the games you play. Black Friday is next, and nothing yet shows whether it will beat these prices. For the budget IPS tier, where the G50D is already 40% off, waiting is unlikely to save you much.
